Popular Question

How often you should stripe and restripe your parking lot depends on several factors. Every property is different, and it's important to consider factors such as traffic volume, paint type and overall weather exposure. Recent weather conditions can also come into play.

Of course, it's always OK to invest in fresh striping whenever constructing a new parking lot or making changes to an existing one.

Typically, striping contractors recommend restriping existing lines and markings once they lose roughly 25% of their visibility. For standard water-based and solvent-based paints, that point usually occurs 18 to 24 months after application. For thermoplastic striping, it can be several years.

The best approach is to schedule regular inspections. Striping contractors can assess the condition of your current pavement markings, monitor changes over time, and make expert service recommendations to help you keep up with your parking lot's unique needs.
